Introducing Full Custom Shirts: Upload Your Own Images

A new way to design with us: bring your own image, restyle it with AI, add your own words. Same shirts you already know — now built around whatever you bring to the table.

Something new went live this week. Until now, designing a shirt with us meant choosing one of our designs and adding your own words to it — the "Our Design, Your Words" system we started with. That's still here, and it's not going anywhere. But there's a second path now, and it changes what's possible.

It's called Full Custom, and the idea is simple: you bring the image, we handle the rest.

The Full Style Lineup

The style options are where this gets interesting. Each one takes the same input image and produces a completely different result. Here's what's currently in the system:

  • Original — no style applied, your image as it is
  • Vector Cartoon — clean lines, bold color, illustrated feel
  • Pop Art — high contrast, saturated, posterized
  • Soft 3D — dimensional, slightly stylized, modern
  • Black & White Sketch — hand-drawn pencil look, minimal and timeless
  • Kawaii Cartoon — cute, soft, big-eyed, playful
  • Retro Cartoon — vintage Saturday-morning vibe, slightly faded

One quiet feature worth knowing: the AI styles never repeat. Every generation is a one-of-one. Run the same image through the same style twice and you'll get two different results — both yours, neither identical. (The "Original" option, naturally, stays exactly as you uploaded it.)

Seasonal Styles, On Rotation

On top of the evergreen lineup, we drop occasional seasonal styles tied to specific holidays or moments. Earlier this year, a Valentine's Day style ran through February. Up next: a St. Patrick's Day style coming later this month.

Seasonal styles are limited — they show up for a few weeks, then make room for the next one. Worth checking in around holidays if you want to catch them while they're live.

Why We Built It

The original "Our Design, Your Words" system worked because it gave people a way to personalize without needing design skills. Pick a design, add a phrase, done. But over the last few months, the same request kept coming up: can I use my own image?

Sometimes it was a pet. Sometimes a kid's drawing. Sometimes a band logo, a wedding date, a sketch from a notebook. The pattern was clear — people had something specific they wanted to wear, and the existing system couldn't quite get them there.

Full Custom is the answer to that. It's not a replacement for the original system; it's a second door into the same shop.

The AI Styles, Briefly

The style options are where this gets interesting. Each one takes the same input image and produces a completely different result. A few of the current styles:

  • Vector Cartoon — clean lines, bold color, illustrated feel
  • Pop Art — high contrast, saturated, posterized
  • Soft 3D — dimensional, slightly stylized, modern

There are several more in the system, and the lineup grows over time. One quiet feature worth knowing: the styles never repeat. Every generation is a one-of-one. Run the same image through the same style twice and you'll get two different results — both yours, neither identical.

Saved Styles in Your Account

Here's a detail that gets overlooked: any style you generate gets saved to your account. So if you land on a version you love, it's there waiting the next time you come back — ready to put on a different shirt, a different cut, a different color.

That matters more than it sounds like it would. It means the design work you do once becomes a small library you build over time. The shirt is the first product; the saved style is the asset behind it.

What This Doesn't Change

A few things stay exactly as they were:

  • The same Everyday and Premium shirt lines
  • The same custom text system — up to 20 characters, in fonts that match the design
  • The same print quality, the same fits, the same fulfillment
  • The same original "Our Design, Your Words" catalog

Full Custom is added on top, not in place of. If the original system is what you're here for, nothing changes for you.

Who This Is For

The Full Custom path tends to make sense for a few specific people:

  • Pet owners who want their dog or cat on a shirt — without paying a designer
  • Parents who want a kid's drawing turned into something wearable
  • Couples who want a private joke, a sketch, or a shared image made real
  • Anyone with a logo, a band, a small business, or a personal symbol they want printed
  • People who just want to play with the AI styles and see what comes out

If none of those describe you, the original system probably still fits best. If any of them do, this is the door you were waiting for.

The New Phrase

The original tagline — "Our Design, Your Words" — still describes the original system perfectly. But for Full Custom, the language shifts:

Your Design, Your Words.

Same shirts, same words, but now the design starts with you. That's the only real difference, and it's also the whole point.

Final Thoughts

Launches tend to come with more noise than they're worth. This one is quieter on purpose. The original system isn't being replaced, the prices aren't changing, and the shirts you've already designed still look exactly the same on a hanger.

What's new is a second way to design — for the people who had something specific in mind and couldn't quite get there before. If that's you, the upload button is ready when you are.
